Red Cedar Aravis 25X40 shingle roofing

This project concerns one of the first roofs built in France with Red Cedar Aravis 25X40. As in other renovations at Le Grand-Bornad in Haute-Savoie, the previous natural Canadian Cedar shingles were replaced with new Ardogres Red Cedar Aravis 25X40 porcelain stoneware roof tiles. These owe their name to the mountain range of the same name overlooked by this beautiful chalet surrounded by nature.

This type of Ardogres porcelain stoneware shingle is made using digital technology. This makes it possible to faithfully reproduce the graphic appearance and structure of natural wood shingles. In these photos, it is possible to observe the variety of the graphics and the changing shades, from light to dark, that make this roof unique and not comparable to others.

Specifically, this roof has some peculiarities given by the copper trim on the ridge line and in the air intakes. As is usual in these areas, wooden elements were used for the snow stops and eaves.

More than 30 years later, Ardogres continues to be chosen for renovations and new constructions in the mountain resorts of Savoie and Haute-Savoie, France.

In this case, it is the roofing of a wooden chalet in Le Fetelay Thones (74), whose roof was renovated using the new Red Cedar Aravis 25X40 shingles.

This product is perfectly suited to roofs that have been used for centuries in these places and faithfully reproduces Canadian cedar shingles.
