Restoration of the Bishop's Seminary in Albenga (SV) - Italy

Stone Grey 40X40 - Seafront

Roof tile: 40X40 Grigio Pietra

Ardogres is an Italian company specialised in the renovation of façades and roofs of historic buildings, in this case religious buildings.

The historic Bishop's Seminary in Albenga (SV - Italy) is subject to Cultural Heritage protection and was restored in the 2000s using Grigio Pietra 40X40 porcelain stoneware shingles.

These prove particularly suitable for works of this type, whether replacing natural Ligurian slate or old roofing tiles or asbestos sheets or slabs.

The 40X40 format features a rhomboid laying pattern, so-called 'French style', which is realised by using two screws that hook the tile at the slotted holes and guarantee its absolute stability even in particularly unfavourable weather conditions.

These holes and the very structure of Ardogres roof tiles make them unique worldwide and allow all the advantages of porcelain stoneware to be exploited in other areas of buildings as well, not just for floors.

Specifically: resistance, lightness, non-absorbency, frost-resistance, imperviousness to external agents (e.g. saltiness, mould, lichens, acid rain).
