The ARDOGRES® OLD CEDAR 25x40 porcelain stoneware shingle tile is a highly innovative roofing and façade solution inspired by traditional weathered Canadian cedar shingles used in Alpine and mountain architecture.
Developed through advanced ARDOGRES® HDT (High Definition Technology) digital inkjet printing, OLD CEDAR reproduces with extraordinary realism the aged appearance of natural cedar wood, including the grey-brown tones, weathered textures and authentic visual depth created by years of exposure to sun, snow and mountain climates.
The result is an ultra-realistic wood-effect roof tile combining the warm aesthetic of aged cedar shingles with the superior technical performance and durability of porcelain stoneware.
Originally developed for Alpine architecture in France, particularly in the Savoie and Haute-Savoie regions, OLD CEDAR is perfectly suited to projects where traditional chalet aesthetics and high-performance building materials are essential.
Its natural appearance makes it ideal for:
- mountain chalets
- ski resorts and hotels
- Scandinavian-inspired architecture
- luxury lodges and cabins
- contemporary timber architecture
- ventilated façades and cladding
- sustainable and energy-efficient buildings
Unlike natural cedar roofing, OLD CEDAR offers exceptional long-term durability without the maintenance issues associated with real wood. The tile is resistant to frost, snow, hail, humidity, UV exposure and severe thermal variations, making it perfectly suited to harsh mountain and Nordic climates.
Thanks to its lightweight format and mechanical fixing system using screws and slotted holes, installation is fast, safe and suitable for ventilated roof systems, insulated structures such as ISOTEC®, and modern façade applications.
As a sustainable alternative to natural wood shingles, OLD CEDAR contributes to environmentally conscious construction by combining long lifespan, recyclability and reusability without the use of glues or adhesives.
Like all ARDOGRES® porcelain stoneware roofing systems, it guarantees:
- extremely low water absorption (<0.5%)
- frost resistance and freeze-thaw durability
- resistance to hail, abrasion and impact
- UV and colour stability over time
- minimal maintenance requirements
- 50-year warranty
- expected lifespan exceeding 100 years
With its unmatched realism, advanced HDT graphics and exceptional durability, ARDOGRES® OLD CEDAR 25x40 represents one of the most sophisticated wood-look roofing solutions available worldwide.
